Heavy social media use was linked to negative wellbeing and self-esteem, regardless of a young person's mental state, with more girls experiencing feelings of depression and hopelessness.
“Those who feel worse may turn to social media for solace or community,” Dr Amy Orben, research fellow at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, said of the research.
“It’s not a vacuum, it works both ways."
Contrast that with the title of this post, which tries to establish a clear causal link from social media use to poor mental health.
As someone who's had a lot of trouble finding data science jobs/internships, I think a product like this would help a lot! However, I don't know the challenges of getting companies/hiring managers on such a platform would be, and I suspect that might be your main difficulty.
"What is the most effective way to mass-produce blue potion, considering the following geographically-distributed resource locations, and impending attacks from several maximum-hostility alien swarms? Assume that bots are restricted to maintenance only. You have 20 minutes to design a scalable solution. Go."
Also, my guess is that the success rate for interviews would be fairly low, making any comparison of the success rates for different languages/editors even more statistically shaky. They should definitely publish the total sample size and success percentage for these results to be meaningful.
Example: Say they hired 5 out of a 100 applicants who used Python, and 2 out of 20 applicants who used Ruby. That's a 5% success rate vs a 10% success rate, a 100% increase. I'd hardly call that a significant result though.
Are natural language interfaces for databases commonly used in the industry? Sorry if that sounds hostile, I'm simply curious about the state of a field which doesn't seem very prevalent outside of academia.
The Natural Language trend is on the rise over multiple domains. From large corporations like Microsoft, IBM and Wolfram Alpha, to small startup companies like Looker, Statemuse or AnswerRocket - companies are taking a shot at achieving the ultimate User Experience of Natural Language over databases. Solutions differ in two major ways: UX Approach and Solution model.
In the UX approach department, Kueri.me has taken a real-time auto-complete suggestion mode which helpos users construct their questions properly thus enhancing the valid question ratio. In addition, Kueri is available as a complete platform for on premises development where as other solutions are cloud based services.
