This is correct, we don't currently support 32-bit hosts, and don't publish 686 builds.

We do plan to add cross-arch support in the future, though - it's just a lot of work to get right.

Then the uname -m part from http://docker.io/gettingstarted.html is a lie!

I'll try it on Windows with vagrant then.
