Eh, I may be overstating things a little bit. I definitely have a substantial ego, but I don't think it's too the point that it's damaging to me. I'm definitely competitive, but I also value being humble. Certainly I acknowledge that there are plenty of people around who are smarter than I am.

Maybe it's not even so much ego, as it is a crazy high sense of self-efficacy. I still buy into that "I can do anything, if I'm just willing to work hard enough" mindset.
