A 240,000-user platform. A live emergency-response pilot. A four-system trading suite. All built by one engineer, and that engineer is the one you'd work with.
I work like a technical co-founder. You bring the product. I bring the engineering and the judgment. I don't take tickets, I take ownership of the thing and ship it. "Karim requires zero hand-holding" is how my last CTO put it.
Proof of work, as the sole or founding engineer:
1. The Scientific Place (edtech). Bootstrapped to 240,000+ users on $0 marketing, fully organic. Custom constraint-satisfaction engine for procedurally generated puzzles, with a separate cryptographic anti-cheat layer. Peaked at 11,000 users in a single day on one VPS.
Astro, React, Svelte, TypeScript, Python/FastAPI, MongoDB.
2. Himaya71 (emergency response). Founding engineer on a live pilot. Client-side indoor navigation with sub-100ms routing that reroutes around active fire zones, a master-worker computer-vision pipeline processing RTSP streams, and a custom Android background service for persistent GPS. Won a 20,000 AED grant and a signed pilot contract.
React Native, Expo, Python, YOLOv8, Hasura, Docker.
3. AIWAY (fintech). A four-system financial intelligence suite I designed and deployed end to end: a forecasting engine on Prophet, a multi-source news aggregator with cryptographic deduplication, a Telegram trading terminal for Binance and Bybit, and self-healing infrastructure at near 100% uptime.
Python, Prophet, Telethon, CCXT.
4. Internal tooling for an international marketing agency (under NDA). First tool shipped five days after onboarding, then grew into a set the team ran daily. One of them translated content across 39 languages in a single pass, replacing hours of manual editing.
React, TypeScript, Python, Docker.
I use AI tooling like autocomplete. It makes me faster. It does not make the decisions, and nothing ships that I haven't read. The architecture and the judgment are mine. I use Claude Code daily.
I work async and own the technical calls, then bring product decisions back to the founder. Greenfield, an existing production codebase, or an AI-generated prototype that needs to become real are all fine starting points.
UAE Golden Visa, self-sponsored. Looking for long-term monthly engagements.
