Interesting perspective, agreed 100%; having UDP available in the browser would open up a plethora of interesting new use cases - games, video/audio calls without WebRTC overhead - and techniques to use. Well, WebTransport is built on top of QUIC, and so the overhead is actually reasonably comparable to that for WebRTC.


But QUIC is another case of "one size fits all" reliability and ordering (etc.) that doesn't allow a great deal of flexibility.
