Here "engagement" means "target was hit". What does "aiming supported by an artificial intelligence system" mean? What does "adjustments from an unmanned aerial vehicle" mean? The rifle has "an effective range of up to 2,000 m, and a maximum range of up to 7,000 m" (though it was apparently effective at 4,000 meters). Does "maximum" vs. "effective" mean you're unlikely to hit anything over 2,000?

Not sure, but I believe that they were using some proprietary system to account for wind/temp, because over that distance they will have a massive impact. Adjustments via drone likely just means they used a drone to get a better idea of adjustments for follow up shots. I would imagine that the rifle was even held by a device to make more precise micro adjustments

Assuming his rifle was factory accurate to 1/2 MOA and he made zero shooter related inconsistencies, and all environmental factors between the shooter and the target were accounted for, at 4km he would expect to hit inside of a 60cm diameter circle

Shots like this are mostly luck

This war is Peak Sniper.

The Line of Contact is becoming too lethal for soldiers and crewed weapons. In Ukraine, drones account for the majority of russian casualties. The "grey zone" between opposing dug-in positions has greatly widened beyond rifle range. Drones are now out-ranging the Soviet era artillery that russia uses.

So it is simply too dangerous for a sniper to crawl across 20-30 Km of grey zone under enemy observation day and night to reach an advantageous sniper's nest.
