# DSBG - Dead Simple Blog Generator (Go) - Static Sites Made Easy
Tired of wrestling with complex static site generators? I was, so I built DSBG - the Dead Simple Blog Generator!
It's a command-line tool written in Go that takes a directory of Markdown and HTML files and spits out a static website. Think super minimal, batteries-included, and fast.
Key Features:
- Markdown & HTML Support: Write in your preferred format, mix and match!
- YAML Frontmatter: Easy metadata for titles, descriptions, dates, tags, etc.
- Tag Filtering: Automatic tag filters on the index page for navigation.
- Theming: Default, Dark, and Colorful themes out of the box, or bring your own CSS.
- RSS Feed Generation: rss.xml is automatically created.
- Client-Side Search: Fuse.js powered search built-in.
- "PAGE" Tag: Need a custom page? Tag it and DSBG will copy the whole directory.
- Watch Mode: -watch flag for live reloading during development.
- Single Binary: Go means easy installation - pre-built binaries available or go install.
I just wanted something simple to run my personal blog. No configs to endlessly tweak, no dependency hell. Just drop in your content and go.
Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Maybe someone else is looking for a "dead simple" solution too.
