I fear this will be as adopted as PDF/2.0, the first non-free (and ISO) specification of the PDF format.

Hopefully the draft versions are freely available somewhere and closely resemble the final product^W specification.

Still, I agree with your main point: let's hope future OIDC ISO spec(s) is/are still freely available in some form.
