Take selfies with public traffic cameras (trafficcamphotobooth.com)

This is all for New York, the page should be updated to indicate that.

Plus the page only seems to work on Cell Phones. If on a desktop you get a warning and allowed only to see a map of traffic cameras in NYC.

I didn't recognize the names of the streets where it said my nearest camera was. It turns out it's on the other coast. Perhaps it would be good to show the distance in parentheses, or filter anything that's more than 5 miles away.

Yeah it looks like the cameras are all in NYC

If anyone wanted to make something similar for California here is a map of traffic cameras there.

"It looks like you might be on desktop, which I did not design for because I do not want you to bring your laptop into traffic :("

I'm in the UK. Why would I want to use a phone to browse a forum or hit your traffic camera thing?

The purpose of this site is to take a picture of yourself using a traffic camera. This requires that you're in front of the traffic camera, which requires that you're physically in traffic, which probably wouldn't have a desktop computer involved.

But, if you want to see it, you can set your user agent to some mobile agent. In Safari, this is done with the menu: Developer -> User Agent -> Safari - iOS xx.x

The purpose of this site is to make a political statement, which would be better achieved by at least showing desktop visitors an example screenshot.

This is their way around non-convertable interaction. They don't want PCs because PCs won't use the idea properly. They hide it behind the idea of a laptop in traffic which is disingenuous but oh well.

Probably saves them a lot of headache and even costs for the site. I wish they were a bit more honest though.

That is all well an good, but I will not browses sites with a spyware device :)

What do you browse with?

dillo and Firefox with noscript. Browsing on that tiny screen is annoying :)
