What a waste and a shame.

And although the article does not mention it, no doubt there was corruption at every stage of the bidding and construction of this white elephant.


Hello - I was one of the editors on this story. Here to say, thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts. It is indeed sad. We do hope our story revives some of the interest in these facilities that are ready-to-move in but empty. Maybe there are some Bangladeshi entrepreneurs or even a global company looking to build a remote workplace. These facilities could be a good place for them to put down their anchor!


Unfortunately, global companies want more than physical plant - they want the entire set of reliable infrastructure; meanwhile, international employees want to move to a "livable" place that will also meet their social needs. Bit of a chicken-and-egg problem.
