MongoDB memory management is a legitimate concern... but not because it's hard to control memory usage of a single mongod. "More granular locking" is a temporary, non-scalable solution? Ya, there are lots of well reasoned complaints about MongoDB out there. This is...not one of them. It's weird that this is getting voted up.
