The ex-Meta recruiter who says she made $190K a year ‘to do nothing’ speaks out (sfgate.com)

It sounds like her real career interest is being a major TikTok broadcaster (where she has more than 200,000 followers).

But that makes me suspicious of how she describes her experience. Seems like there's an "incentive" there to make it sound interesting/extreme/provocative.

It doesn't even need to be quoted. There's an interest to gather attention by any and all means. That's sad. Either way, it's gossip masquerading as "news"... double-quoting since it's not newsworthy.

Why do people brag about this stuff?

The subject is running a career counseling business now and this is good publicity.

This is some sort of modern news urban legend. They definitely did lots and lots of hiring. The recruiters I met were all constantly busy.

People have loud mouths that ruin the fun for themselves, and others. Today, people just can't help but show off.

Hard to say. They could also be lying to further their (in)famy (maybe they never want another professional job), cast sour grapes where they used to work, or were paid to by some reporter who wants to keep the motor running on the story inflation machine. I think some of these stories are just fakes.
