That’s wielding power in service of the public. They also took the idea that employers are allowed to have enormous control over their employees and contractors and said the government no longer allows it. The government’s job is to ensure our liberty from coercion, in all its forms. And for the first time in a very long time, the Federal Trade Commission acted like it.

I love that description of government’s purpose to wield power in favor of the public. Sure banning non-competes infringes on the freedom of employers to coerce their workers but workers gain the freedom to change jobs.
