The peculiar problem of sterilizing cooked red meat (shkrobius.wordpress.com)

Cooked, safe, but raw looking steak could have a market today. "Raw foods" is a thing, right? Just the thing to gross out the vegan in-laws, too.

My parents did a short bit with some multilevel marketing scheme selling irradiated foods in the late 70s. I wound up eating a lot of the "salisbury steak" things; little "boil in bag" plastic pouched, non refrigerated meat bit that we got cases of in trade for publishing work I think. Quite good actually but looked as if someone had already tried to eat it and failed. I do not recall the color being reddish but they were covered in a gravy and soaked with who knows what dyes.

Well you can eat beef carpaccio or steak tartare, they are raw

Anyone have a photo of this green meat?

So green eggs and ham is overcooked eggs and irradiated ham. TIL!
