Scotland is also piloting a 4 day week. Mainstream adoption is just around the corner imo

I want to hope that this change will happen worldwide, but I doubt it.

It's a shame because I think of all the options presented as ways to increase quality of life this one would have the most drastic impact to the most number of people.


Isn’t 36 hours a bit long for a 4 day week?


I’d much rather work four days at nine hours than five days at eight.


My workplace offers an optional schedule of one day off every two weeks.

I thought that sounded great, even though the hours have to add up to the same amount as if working all ten days.

But it turns out that they are rigidly inflexible in that you are not allowed to choose a minimum variance schedule.

You have to "bank" extra hours on the first week and "spend" them on the other. And that means you have excessively long days on the first.
