The first item (on-device nudity detection in conversations) is good and deserves some applause. It's also easy to implement, they could just take an off-the-shelf API and optimize the parameters to their needs, and has minimal privacy concerns because nothing is being reported to Apple. I'm honestly surprised this isn't common already.

It's the part about scanning people's photo libraries that folks are (rightly) concerned about.
