Why does every basic income experiment get touted as an amazing success when said experiments only capture one side of the equation? Of course giving people no strings attached money makes them happier: "Finally, the cash recipients were healthier, happier, and less anxious than their counterparts in the control group."

But you're not raising prices, increasing taxes, or taking away their other social benefits. So how are basic income experiments takeaways even valid?
