Given the looming energy crisis, the coming climate crisis, and the "peak everything" crisis, we'll get there sooner and later.


Right. The internet has taken away the need for a large part of the reasons for driving or (non-entertainment) travelling.

Making more use of telecommuting will drive down the number of accidents without the potential risks and liability issues of driverless cars.

Not that driverless cars aren't neat, but I agree it is the solution to the wrong problem.


This would make riding my motorcycle much safer, I like it.


If driverless cars start reducing the car road toll then motorbikes will start to look really dangerous:(.

I suppose we could get self driving motorbikes but that would be missing the point of riding.


given that a huge proportion, maybe even the majority, are caused by people in cars turning in front of or merging into motorcyclists I doubt it.
