Why would you mention her major instead of mentioning that other candidates had more relevant skills? It seems to me that you're grinding an axe for that women's study degree instead of giving her useful feedback.

Don't reject someone because of their college degree. That is irrelevant. Reject someone because they don't know their stuff.

you would be wrong. it does not sound like her women’s study major was any problem. but her lack of technical skills made would not prepare her for the job. this is exactly the kind of feedback that can screw you over
