This would have been at least 9 years ago if not longer. I honestly never looked again after it stopped happening.

Edit:i did find this discussion on hacker news about Shaw's hijacking from 2014.

I've been a Shaw customer for more than three or four years and have never seen (or heard of) anything like this.

I have a feeling, if this ever happened, it was closer to a decade ago.
