In my experience you’re describing remote “consultant” work.

I haven’t worked in an office for over a decade, I generally work with smaller companies who aren’t obsessed with “doing agile” or scrumping or koombaya boards.

My current major client uses slack and we probably chat about either bugs or new features on 3 days out of a given week, but mostly it’s just working on tickets.

This doesn’t necessarily work well for all roles or clients but good clients generally just want the result.

What technologies do you usually work with? Some tend to have more corporate use and thus may be harder to find less corporate-y clients.
