So now that's managed K8S, managed databases, load balancers, a cloud firewall that's partially VPC like, object storage and block storage.

Curious what's next. Lambdas maybe?

We have a big roadmap for 2019. Queues are interesting and so are functions in general. Nothing to share today but those are items we are assessing for future roadmaps :)

Queues are indeed nice, but please consider modern solutions such as nats.io and others instead of "just" Kafka / RabbitMQ and similar.

Any chance you can bump me up in the queue for getting managed DB beta access?

Is application hosting (heroku, app engine, elb) on the roadmap?

You could use Hephy Workflow (you might have heard of Deis Workflow?) on DOK8S to do that.

This is an open-source fork of Deis Workflow.

We're hoping to add support for Digital Ocean's Kubernetes and ancillary services like storage in the next release. Preliminary testing indicates that it is very much possible. The only dependencies of a prod Workflow deployment are, any compliant Kubernetes, Load Balancers, and an S3-api compatible storage, all of which are available on DO now.

The latest Hephy release does not yet support general S3-api compatibility with arbitrary S3 providers like DO, but DigitalOcean is our first target platform for expanding the supported offerings. The pull requests are open right now.

(Currently supported platforms include GCP/GKE, Amazon, and Azure AKS.)

Dokku is somewhat similar to all of them.

It's not multi-node though right?

I don't think so, at least not by default.

Ping me about queues!

queues please! :)

Managed databases? Is this a private beta?

You can request access: https://try.digitalocean.com/dbaas-beta/

It was announced last month, discussion was here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18294450

Functions, Kafka, redis, task queue, elasticsearch, auth, docker register, cloud build.

DO has a managed database?

Managed queues? Lambdas?

Kafka, redis,...?

Seems pretty standard.

Redis and Kafka are both on the roadmap for the second half. We are starting with PostgreSQL in Q1 and then MySQL.

Good to see someone doing this in the correct order

Thx so much for PG first. It will be PG11, right? Also, what will be the billable aspects - just storage?

Cool, thanks for the quick answer.
