Indeed. Simply keep providing feed in tarrifs for renewables, thereby ensuring cryptomining and AC are both paying their "fair share" for receiving clean energy. Not that regulation isn't important (ie Energy Star), but market signals are important as well.
In a perfect world, a refundable carbon tax fixes all of this, but we don't live in a perfect world.
ACs have improved leaps and bounds over the last 20 years. I don't think we need any extra effort into this. The nature of the beast is to lower cost while providing a good product. It is simply what customers will demand.
On the other hand, bitcoin is an issue, and it is only going to get worse. No need to split focus until that beast is tamed.
