It’s an Apple library for an Apple platform, to make things easier for people using Swift/Objective-C. Some people care about that. Just because it’s not an open standard t shouldn’t be discussed?

Unfortunately it seems that many people cannot distinguish between the programming model of sockets and the protocols that programming model exposes.

From what I can tell, Network.framework is a different API still talking TCP, UDP and so forth underneath.
