I really liked the Essential phone and it's message. It hit the sweet spot for me running vanilla Android and being at the mid tier price point.

The no branding focus really went against the big brands and convinced me the company had the right goals in mind.

Unfortunately I had no reason to buy a new phone, as mine is working fine. I planned on buying the next Essential phone.
