Does nginx not have HTTP/2 or a free download? I've got a couple of webservers that as best I can tell are responding to HTTP2 requests, running nginx (that I didn't pay for)

It does, as a module, not as core code[0].

However:

I think the parent is making reference to Caddy generating the proper certificate files for you automatically using Let's Encrypt.
