The Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 machines have no touchpad or touchscreen support. Listing them as "supported" requires a creative interpretation of the term.

They don't say everything works they say kernel works on those laptops.

I'd say "boots" would be more appropriate.

between booting and being able to everything except supporting non existent proprietary drivers for touchpad and screen from Microsoft is quite a difference.

Works for me - those are the first things I turn off!

Not really. You need support from the manufacturer.

Recent BMC firmwares have openbmc under the hood, with the industry using it as a base for further development or customisation.

NC-SI. It allows the BMC and the host to share a single physical network connection.

There are many things that BMCs are not great at. Add this to the list :)

I can't reach it either

The bmc situation is changing. There's an effort to support the ARM SoCs upstream, and there are a number of companies working on open source BMC stacks.

Thanks for letting us know, just spent the past hour debugging this.

Perhaps get it in the FAQ so that when new users such as myself see the Error 525, we know to be patient?
