You are 100% right that we _should_ be focusing on reducing emissions, but the reason we would prefer to capture-and-sequester is... money. We make money by emitting C02, and it looks like we will also pay to have it captured again. Is this madness? Also yes.

Someone will make a trillion dollars out of this.

Same: I decided c. 2000 that it was better to be the real me everywhere and to live with the benefits but also the restrictions. I am probably a kinder, more constructive person for it.

I feel seen and attacked.

This is awesome OP, love your work.

They'll change it to blackletter next

turns out selling caffeinated sugar water is a lucrative business.

something something addictive.

... but yes, I'm shocked more businesses don't try to put addictive substances into their food. Software learned from the food industry bliss point to try to use KPIs for 'engagement' aka addictiveness. Not trying to be holier than thou etc. but its some interesting stuff to consider; at the end of the day a lot of folks are trying to scramble to the top of their respective pile, and addiction is great driver of sales (gambling, food, video games, etc).

I hadn't really considered addiction as the ultimate form of marketing, but maybe it is?

Well I would argue that sugar, salt and fat does the job rather well already. And you can see that when say fat-content is lowered in some products the sugar is ramped up to compensate... Or at least some sweetener is used to replace it.

It's not some random experiment. I you made it, sure. But when _Elon Musk_ does it, for his own stupid reasons, it's important that we understand and push back against it.

I appreciate the use of liters as the unit of bulk

So impressed by this, from someone with no prior experience. A1 hacker news experience, congrats

I'm sorry this happened to you/Jenn.

I lost my brother to a heart attack aged 50, but he died immediately. In the end it was very quick, but he had warning signs for years. Look after yourselves, people.

Let me add one thing: high blood pressure is both very bad and sometimes has no clear tell signs, and cake people doing sedentary work like IT folks it's very common. Get tested regularly.

And much of a project, like life, isn’t deep work. It’s the thousand little things, things which are indeed doable in the interstices
