Totally agree with your comment. I wonder what will they come up with now as the Emergencies Act order has been lifted: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-event-feb23-1.63618...

Bitcoin is needed because it is decentralized, transparent, traceable and a lot of other good properties

OR

Hey we need bitcoin because a convoy of large trucks led by a bunch of white supremacist anarchists ( https://mrsbrittanybested.com/2022/02/03/rotten-to-the-core/) whose MOU was to literally overthrow the democratically elected government, who chose to block the core of the capital and disturb other citizens' peace by honking constantly, harass masked first line workers and cause businesses to shut down for 3 weeks, block major land borders causing billions in economic damages, who were asked repeatedly by order of court to leave, when the very public data leak showed an overwhelming amount of so-called donations to a government-toppling movement came from outside of Canada, and when all levels of law enforcement from municipal to provincial were inadequate in dealing with this that forced the federal government to step in (an action supported by 66% of Canadians) in order to actually restore peace in the city of Ottawa, a motion that has to be supported by a majority in the parliament every 30 days to be renewed....

Sure, that sounds like a compelling argument for Bitcoin. Lets funnel bitmonies to every "peaceful movements" around the world to destabilize nations, overthrow governments and cause anarchy.

Just wondering if there was a way to get more data for non-US locations. For example, according to my knowledge, most of Canada's "senior" position salaries (in CAD) are not even near the "entry-level" salaries (is USD). If you convert the CAD salary to USD then it becomes even more pathetic. Canada has "free" healthcare but the taxes are higher than California/Seattle. Granted, you don't have to spend 2-3M for houses (only California), but the housing markets around Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa are also anything but "affordable" (around 700k-1.5M mark). I wonder why there is such a huge pay disparity between two neighbor countries with sort of similar "standards" of living. Just house prices and "free medical" (which is covered by your job anyways) cannot justify the 5-7 times salary difference. Wondering if anyone else had other opinions?

Do you have similar data for companies outside USA, specifically Canada? Salaries in Bay Area, Seattle and NY are quite higher than other tech hubs, but I want to know what the differences are from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver. From my research, data outside the US is very limited and outdated.

Unfortunately, TripleByte is focused on just a few major US hubs at the moment.
