What makes this guy's blog post a more authoritative reference than 1000 other sites, as well as everyone's personal experience of feeling naturally "good" at some tasks and "bad" at others?
I used to watch a lot of his streams/videos, but I always thought he was just not taking himself seriously, being entertaining, "memeing and trolling". I thought it was his strategy to do unfiltered ADHD thoughts even when they don't make any sense, because that's what brings him viewers.
I loathe Kramnik and I am saddened and shaken by Danya's death. (We both played at the Mechanics Institute Chess Club.)
Having said all that, the prevailing wisdom in the suicide-prevention field is that we are each responsible for our own decisions. I.e. Kramnik, long may he suffer, is not "responsible."
I have no idea why you think online harassment brings no responsibility to perpetrators. During an exchange Kramnik said "you started it" so this is just out of pure spite.
Anyway I don't live in your kafkaesque reality and do not wish to.
Maybe, but I'm not sure if I have the aptitude to do that, or if you should be ascribing that role randomly to strangers, or if that gives you any credibility. In most countries, continued harassment, defamation and disturbing peace is a crime. Apparently even in FIDE rules as Nihal pointed it out. So FIDE is pretty much a co-conspirer.
> Anyone who is "anti-Christian" is suddenly a domestic terrorist???!
This game is old as the world, "Christian" is different things to different people. How many would call Trump "Christian"?
The point being, one man's Christian is another man's anti-Christian, that is, anyone can be either depending on the whim of the Watcher and if the Watcher isn't watched, anyone can be a domestic terrorist, suddenly or gradually.
That could get rather awkward, given how many Bible passages directly contradict current Republican policy.
Example:
When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
- Leviticus 19:33-34
WTF? You can't comment like that here, no matter who are what you're referring to. Too many of your comments have been straying into inflammatory rhetoric and flamebait. This is not what HN is for and it destroys what it is for. Could you please take a moment to read the guidelines and make more of an effort to observe them in future? https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html
If you feel hurt by my comment, read about the Westboro Baptist Church and decide by yourself if it reflects the founding principles of Christianity of love and tolerance.
This is just my point of view as a non-US citizen born in a heavily christian leaning society. It will be hard to find a "god hates fags" sign outside the US.

I think instead you are having a non rational response to a theme you are emotional about.
This thread is full of wonderful books! I had a lightning-bolt insight (one of few in my life) when listening that audiobook - the section about the shut-in.
The followup book is worth reading as well.
Different but related: Not Nice, by Aziz Gazipura.
Yeah, I don't know about that. I had many people in my life (including close friends and relatives) who continued to be abusive "it's just fun teasing" even after I asked them to stop.
They are no longer in my life. I don't miss them even a little bit!
OMG. The section (and one central page) in that book about status is one of the most insightful and meaningful things I have ever read in my entire life!
Once you recognize status transactions ... they are absolutely everywhere, in every single interaction.
