There are ways to make copy-paste ChatGPT usable with things like AI Badger. Also, ChatGPT web is unmetered, so you can do review/planning work and only delegate the actual implementation to Codex.
I am happy to see JDK versions actually becoming faster and lighter over time. Nice contrast with other platforms that seem to be moving in the opposite direction.
Author here. I’m continuing to improve StatLite alongside these low-memory experiments. One direction I’m exploring is supporting other Micrometer-based frameworks, like Quarkus, which should be an interesting fit for this kind of 256 MB VPS setup.

I wouldn't say collapse. But given that we started in November 2025 (with wide adoption of Claude Code), we probably have 3 to 15 months before we see widespread impact on quality.
One big benefit of TUIs is that they lower the bar for customer adoption. Before Claude Code, it was unthinkable to come up with a mass-market TUI because most users would not use it simply because it's a terminal. Now, it can even be an advantage. Even inexperienced users are no longer afraid of the terminal.
