Google and Google Ads are not one and the same.

The jump from the op's "i screwed up my google ads campaigns" to "Research shows that many young people are getting their information from short video platforms like TikTok"....

i mean, c'mon

If Google Ads was cut off from Google, would they still be profitable?

exactly

end of the day, guys like the author, for better or worse, are going to be replaced by the next generation of developers who don't care for the 'aesthetics' in the same way

And that’s before you even get to the asymmetric costs.

Another message of hope: I'm mid-late thirties and had the exact same. Daily tinnitus from December 2024 through to around August 2025.

I went through MRI etc to no avail.

Then one day I felt something (extremely deep in my ear) just 'release', like a tube unblocking or pressure equalising. And the sound went away and (fingers crossed) hasn't come back since. This was after daily issues for 8-9 months solid.

not an issue /yet/ as it's separate and barely anyone is using it

I had this too last week. It pointed out two errors that simply weren’t there. Then completely refused to back down and doubled down on its own certainty, until I sent it a screenshot of the original prompt. Kind of funny.

Honestly if you're removing meta tags from the html of a page for page speed/server space/bandwidth/environmental benefits -- it's time to do something else

I hate FB/twitter as much as the next tech-savvy person but accept that my users use those platforms and it's good for my website to show up optimally when they do

"but part of the secret sauce of why these big orgs generally operate as effective institutional ecologies"

Nah

the secret sauce is "who you know"

it's a tale as old as time

In the UK, at least, gold coins and gold bars benefit from a special tax status which means that they are exempt from VAT

Certain coins, such as the Gold Sovereign in the UK are classed as legal tender and as such are exempt from capital gains tax
