an AI trained on all the dumbest stuff on the internet (Homer Simpson quotes, Pauly Shore screenplays, that one bodybuilding forum where they argued about how many days there were in the week, etc). It's the first AI you don't have to fear will steal your job.

I thought these guys were a lastpass/august competitor, but they are so much more! Plans to replace all authentication and authorization with your phone! I saw a user had his phone connecting to his car, the door to his office, and then log him in to his laptop. Very cool, indeed!

What the hell took them so long? I've tried 20 times to get into podcasts but there's a severe lack of usable apps to easily have access to them.

I'm hoping this company can do something new and "disrupt" the monolithic insurance companies of olden days. Any insights?

And if you have big pockets, get the Ledger Blue, right?

It's out of stock. Anyway... they'd have to be really big. Think about it: with the money for LB you could buy instead 4 ETH and a Ledger Nano to keep them on it.

After reading "Ready Player One", I've been hoping for haptic gloves to be a reality. These aren't quite there yet, but I like that there is something out there. Is anybody aware of other haptic tech out there that will enhance VR?

How much would it cost to make one?

Just by breezing through the hardware specs, using the stuff they recommend, I'd estimate around $35k -$40k...

So let's call it $50k, built and ready to use =)

those cameras are $1.5k each...17 of them.

Edit: Actually, those lenses are around $700/each as well. And you would definitely want a professional putting it together for you with that kind of money. So $100k probably. Definitely made for industry/production use, not for someone trying to film a weekend trip in the mountains haha.

Direct source for the cameras requires registration to see the price https://www.ptgrey.com/grasshopper3-41-mp-color-usb3-vision-...

Non-direct source has price listing http://www.edmundoptics.com/cameras/usb-cameras/point-grey-g...

Retail cost for the Point Grey camera is about 1.3k and Sunex is around $130. Total cost is running about 30-40k, including computer hardware.

>not for someone trying to film a weekend trip in the mountains haha.

The GoPro Omni and the NCTECH IRIS360 may be a little bit closer to the indie scene rather than the professional scene, but those solutions are still $2000 - $5000... and are only 4-6 camera solutions.

There is also 360heros [1][2] which can use up to 14 GoPro cameras for under 10.000.

The presenter does a great job making CLI applications with a few python packages. Pretty entertaining!
