There might not be a lot of market value in doing greenfield JSP development, but being able to navigate legacy codebases and maintain them without breaking critical user flows is a crucial skill. If you only ever use the latest and greatest then definitionally you won't have direct experience working on legacy systems.

If you want to stay up-to-date with new technologies, try to identify places where you can rewrite core subsystems in a safe way. When you pitch this, make sure to explain why it would be useful to the company. If that goes well, you'll have more credibility as you suggest rewriting more of the codebase.

Hi! I'm an iOS consultant based out of beautiful British Columbia. I've been working with iOS since 3.0. I have niche experience with AVFoundation, and am ideally looking for a long term (several month) project.

If you'd like links to some of my apps in the store, shoot me an email!

I've been toying around with iOS since 3.x, and building with it since 4.x. I'm ideally looking for a long-term (several month) contract. I also have experience with AVFoundation (capturing, editing and playing video).

My github is pretty barren because there hasn't been too much work I can talk about publicly. Happy to discuss over email or skype.
