Firefox can be used with socks proxies nicely.

- Use Multi-Account Containers plugin, where you define which domain should be opened in which container.

- Use Container Proxy to configure which socks proxy to use for different containers.

Pair that with ssh tunnel that you use as socks proxy and you have nive tunneling solution for browser.

Maybe, but what I want is just a toggle or something in the very basic manual proxy config to invert the current configuration model.

Here's my ad-hoc proxy. Use it for only these domains (while everything else goes direct).

After I complete my special tunneling task, I'm going to flip it back to "no proxy" and resume normal life.

Right now we are at a point in time when AI can find bugs for attackers and defenders, but defenders did not fix/find those bugs yet.

In time most of the bugs AI can find will be fixed, and things will calm down. Some bugs will be left, but will be too complex to find and weaponise (or rarely).

Alin short, attackers have advantage for a brief time now, but ultimately defenders will win. I guess this "fight" might be over before the end of the year.

I prefer Portainer to manage my docker composes. It is simple and can do it all instead of using cli. Added benefit if you have multiple hosts and want to manage them from one place. And you can extend the whole setup with git for version control.

Syncthing is the only app i need for syncing files to home computer. No clouds, just your phone and computer (or computers).

I have multiple syncthings between phone and home nas:

- Photos (immich on server/mobile). I use master on phone, so immich don't delete on phone, and then rotate my folders out of syncthing directory and then clean my on device camera photo every few months

- Notes: (Obsidian on server/mobile). flawless

- SyncFolder: random folder to move between the two.

I'm using it too. Unfortunately their Android support is a little rough these days. Their official client stopped being developed and while there are options it isn't straightforward

SyncthingFork and also BasicSync both work without any issues on Android 16 for me.

With proper configuration Mikrotik can do preety much everything network related. Awesome product and os.

Windows GUI for Syncthing named SyncTrayzor is also actively developed. https://github.com/GermanCoding/SyncTrayzor After SyncTtrayzor stopped being developed in 2021, it just worked along the updating SyncThing as backend. Now that Syncthing v2 came out, old one is not compatible anymore, but new one picked up the mantle.

I love this software. I am using it to sync files across different computers and different people for years now.
