This might be a problem, but if you're careful to make use of transparency, axis scaling and random jitter (for integer or categorical values), the occlusion issue can be overcome.

For me the readability of tidyverse code is crucial. I like pandas and use it daily, but often it requires deciphering to understand what is happening, especially regarding indexing. But tidyverse code can be easily read, and that has been a big help in enabling collaberation amongst our data team.

Do you have a forum or suggestions tool at all? Fivetran has been amazing for our new datawarehouse and we're very pleased with the service, but there are a few little (non-bug) things that would have made it even easier.

You can email me: fraser@fivetran.com

Beyond Compare has a tabular data mode, where you set the key columns and it presents the differences in a nice interface. Works well for me. http://www.scootersoftware.com

They're weren't claiming that when you searched bing, they did a google search immediately in the background. Rather, they claim that they were collecting google's ranking and using it in their own ranking algorithms. They wouldn't have ever have collected data on hiybbprqag without their previous actions.

Could you link to your research here please? That would help us advise on routes to publication.

15gifts | Junior Data Scientist | Brighton, UK | ONSITE http://www.15gifts.com

15gifts' decision-engine technology powers some of the largest corporations in the UK including Virgin Media, EE, Sky and The Times, and we're growing rapidly. We are now looking for a talented data scientist to join our team and help shape the recommendation algorithms that underpin our product.

You'll be working on the algorithms that underpin our product, and will be responsible for interpreting large amounts of behavioural data to discover the underlying stories and opportunities. Then you'll identify, help implement and test algorithms and optimisations that drive real improvements to our product's performance. You'll work closely with other parts of the business to ensure that the whole product is focused on maximising the benefit of the algorithms that we develop.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with SQL and Python and/or R, have a firm grounding in Data Science principles as well as experience in analysing and visualising data sets. The process will start with a phone chat, and then an interview based around a dataset that we'll ask you to analyse in advance.

Hi, I'm afraid we're not able to do that for this position, sorry.

Our data science team is at the heart of the company and plays a crucial role in analysing and visualising customer behaviour - using the data to build statistical and machine learning models that generate highly tailored recommendations and drive the product forward through data-led optimisations.

We're looking for someone with strong analysis, statistics, machine learning and programming skills (we’re particularly fond of Python and R). It's a great opportunity to work for a small company (13 employees), while analysing data from some of the largest e-commerce sites in the country and beyond. this worked fantastically for me.

I didn't actually expect to use the site - I thought I'd just glance at it and close. But it was so slick that before I really noticed what was happening, Spotify was playing a list of lots of small bands playing around Brighton (UK) in the next week. Cheers for building it!

Would be great if you could filter by genre somehow.

Thanks mate! So glad to hear it! I really want to filter by genre, but it would be tough to do that real-time. Maybe if people could subscribe to a weekly playlist?
