That's the signal I'm getting here and they're not even being coy about it, they're just postponing some form of inevitable price increase.

THIS.

1000x this.

When I grab the deck it's downtime mode for me now, keyboard/mouse time is work or side-project mode.

I was using my steam deck for 100% of gaming since I got it, with my PC collecting dust. But I recently tried out Bazzite on my desktop. It's actually incredible. I had tried using my PC with my TV but having to drag down a keyboard and mouse to log in and open steam was a pain. Bazite makes the entire OS controller friendly, essentially the same as SteamOS. Now I'm able to make use of the much improved compute with the same UX.

brilliant set, takes me right back, love it

Theres a community controller layout you can apply under controller settings which works great.

Got the 6 Pro too, me battery life isn't great either, but I WFH so I just mitigate with a power bank or spot charge for the times when I am on the go all day.

Never had issues with reliability though, I've been really impressed with the hardware aside from the battery.

Sorry, potentially very confusing typo.

"The model is also quite unreliable" should read "The modem is also quite unreliable".

I only have reliability problems with the data connection (specifically 4G and 5G), in other aspects the phone works fine.

better cross platform user interface integration

No, we don't, this is awesome.

I'm curious about what you think of Hold mode vs Flick mode? I personally use Flick mode myself but thought that it might confuse the user on first-impression, so I have it default to Hold mode to be on the safe side.

Kaspersky software is widely believed to be Russian spyware, of which western governments have banned the use of within their infrastructure.

I wouldn't be putting their software on mine or my childrens devices that's for sure.

Thanks, then it looks like I have even one more reason to drop them. Will uninstall this evening.

I created a Perl script called anyconnector which allows me to jump around between different Cisco Anyconnect VPN's using details stored in KeePass entries.

e.g.

  To connect: anyconnector -c env-name
  Disconnect: anyconnector -d
  Get status: anyconnector -s
It gets used by my team all day, every day.

Looks pretty handy! How do you interface with the KeePass database? Is there a library? with Perl bindings?

There's quite a neat little library with an impressive amount of functionality for interacting with Keepass, called "File::KeePass;".

Here's a copy of the script itself: https://gist.github.com/kjbweb/38508fd92669101ec1fca4bea62bc...

It works on Mac's too, so I've been told.
